CHINESE DOCTOR CLINIC
Acupuncture is a system of healing that has been practiced in China for over 2500 years. Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which fine, disposable needles are inserted into specific points on the body call “Acu-points”. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy – known as “Qi” – moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin. Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities – Yin and Yang – and when these become imbalanced, illness may result. By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy, an acupuncturist can stimulate the body’s own healing response and help restore its natural balance.
The flow of Qi can be disturbed by a number of factors. These include emotional states such as anxiety, stress, anger, fear, grief, poor nutrition, weather conditions, hereditary factors, infections, poisons and trauma. The principle aim of acupuncture is to treat the whole person in order to recover the equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.
Note: Acupuncture treatment usually leaves customers relaxated and mentally peaceful. Occasionally, this feeling of relaxation would be so strong after the treatment that your concentration and focus maybe downgraded. Customers may feel soreness and numbness at acu-points where needles are applied, during or after the treatment. Occasionally, slight bruising may appear on the site after treatment. All above reactions are harmless and will disappear without any particular action after a few hours, rarely days, depending on individual body status and conditions.
Chinese medical massage – “Tui Na”, differs from western massage in that finger and palm pressure is applied using a wide range of techniques. “Tui Na” uses techniques and manipulations to stimulate acupuncture points or other parts of the body surface so as to correct physiological imbalance of the body and achieve curative effects. For soft tissue injuries, “Tui Na” relaxes muscles and tendons and promotes smooth passage of the channels. It also promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis. It is both relaxing and therapeutic.
Reflexology is sometimes known as Zone Therapy as the body is divided into different zones represented by a point in the foot or hand. Nerve endings are embedded in feet and hands that then travel to the spinal cord and to various parts of the body. Traditional practitioners believe that simulating these nerve endings helps to improve circulation, activate “Qi” (vital energy) in the body and also promotes relaxation and wellbeing.
Cosmetic acupuncture or acupuncture facelift is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging and revitalize whole body. It is based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine theory, which involves the insertion of very thin disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face. This superficial insertion will increase the local circulation to the face and stimulate collagen production, which will fill out the lines and give firmness to the skin for a glowing, radiant, younger looking complexion. It is much more cost effective and also a safer treatment compared to surgery. It is painless and has no negative side effects: there is no trauma inflicted on the body or need for recovery.
The procedure involves placing glass cups over specific points on the back and then heating them to create a vacuum. It unblocks lymph nodes along the spine, which in turn helps the body to work more efficiency. Cupping also stimulates tissues to release toxins and activates the veins.
Note: Cupping Therapy may leave marks on the area where cups have been applied but usually will vanish in no more than a week.
The application of mild heat to the body at particular points with glowing moxa wool (a finely chopped herb – Folium Artemisia), helps blood and lymph circulation and maintains good health. It is also entirely painless and comfortable.
The allergy test analysis safely and effectively determines which specific substances are triggering allergy related symptoms. The test analyses about 400 substances in order to identify the cause of allergic reaction. The potential accuracy lies between 85% - 99.9%.
Traditional Chinese herbal remedy is one of the oldest systems of health supplement in the world. It is primarily concerned with establishing and eradicating the cause of ill health through holistic treatment of the individual. Herbalists use whole plant extracts and believe that by using plants in their natural form, many of the side effects associated with modern medicine can be avoided. A well trained practitioner prescribes combinations of herbs (carefully selecting around 8 – 20 kinds usually from a total of more than 400) specifically suited to treat you and your condition. Each prescription is therefore tailor-made. The herbs are processed, cooked and then drunk as a decoction or taken in granule form, which is produced using low temperature then extracted and concentrated from the raw plant. This method is becoming increasingly more popular in our modern world. Some of our classic and patent prescriptions are also available in tablet or capsule form.
